About This Course

Contractors have many unique accounting needs, so we've designed this six-week course specifically for the construction industry. In these simple, step-by-step lessons, you’ll get hands-on practice using QuickBooks Premier Contractor 2010 to perform the crucial accounting tasks you do every day. 

First, you'll discover how to set up accounts and create lists for items, customers, and jobs. In addition, you’ll learn how to generate customized and professional-looking contract estimates. You'll also explore different methods for billing your clients and find out how to use the QuickBooks progress invoicing and job-costing features.

As you master the basics, you'll also learn how to deal with tricky situations like change orders and retainage requirements, Along the way, you'll see how to avoid many of the big and often costly mistakes contractors commonly make with QuickBooks. Finally, you'll examine how specific transactions can impact all of your accounts, and you’ll learn techniques that will help you prepare for tax time, protect your business from fraud, and generate dynamic reports.

He is a Certified QuickBooks Professional Advisor and he has authored a QuickBooks workbook that focuses on implementing and troubleshooting the program.
