Six Sigma is a quality improvement methodology structured to reduce product or service failure rates to a negligible level (roughly 3.4 failures per million opportunities). Six Sigma companies typically spend less than five percent of their revenues addressing and repairing quality problems, so that resources are better allocated to meeting customer needs.
To achieve these levels, the Six Sigma process encompasses all aspects of a business, including management, service delivery, design, production, and customer satisfaction. As a philosophy, Six Sigma drives business culture, primarily through the use of Six Sigma projects designed to achieve the organization’s strategic objectives. These cross-functional projects, sponsored by management, are chartered to achieve specific objectives related to quality, schedule and/or cost in a relatively short time period (usually 4 to 6 months). The projects are implemented by cross-functional teams, to improve sharing of information and increase organizational buy-in. Green Belts provide the process expertise needed for the team, which are usually led by more highly-trained Black Belts. (See also our highly-acclaimed Black Belt course).
The Six Sigma Green Belt Online Training Program provides you with an overview of the Six Sigma concepts and tools, including Six Sigma deployment practices, project development, and the DMAIC problem-solving approach. Once you’ve completed this program, you’ll be ready to successfully participate in a Six Sigma team.
This program is entirely online and is completed at your own pace. When you register, you receive six (6) months to complete this program.
