About UDC Community College
In January 2009, under the leadership of Dr. Allen Sessoms, President of the University of the District of Columbia (UDC), the University announced its intention to create a community college. The Board of Trustees approved the creation of a new University System, which now includes UDC and the Community College of the District of Columbia (CCDC). Dr. Jonathan Gueverra is the CEO of the Community College and is leading the efforts of this institution.
CCDC serves the City’s residents by integrating workforce preparation, employability skill development, quality education and remediation, economic development and employer linkages, school-to-career training—providing a seamless transition from K-12 to adult education and literacy to college prep—and continuous lifelong learning. This new institution is here to provide new opportunities to DC citizens, employers, the University, and the District of Columbia.
