Northwestern Connecticut Community College (NCCC), a member of the Connecticut Community Colleges System, is a two-year coeducational institution located in beautiful Litchfield County in the town of Winsted, Connecticut. Winsted is situated in the northwestern region of Connecticut, twenty five miles west of Hartford and twenty seven miles north of Waterbury. NCCC is governed by the Board of Trustees of Regional Community-Technical Colleges and offers programs of study which lead to Associate in Arts degree, Associate in Science degree or a Certificate. NCCC is distinguished among Connecticut Community Colleges in that it offers a unique academic support program for deaf and hard-of-hearing students. Specialized classes, support services and counseling are offered through its Collegiate Education for Deaf and Hard of Hearing Persons (CEDHH) program. A wide range of credit-free courses is offered through the Division of Continuing Education (CE). CE covers a broad spectrum of interests including leisure time activities, self-improvement and job-skill training. NCCC serves as a cultural center for the region providing concerts, dramatic productions, film programs and gallery art exhibits.
