The Medina County Career Center (MCCC) is conveniently located two miles west of the square on state Route 18. The organization has been providing education and training to the citizens of Medina County for over 25 years. As a state of Ohio accredited full-service center since 1987, adult education offers a wide variety of opportunities for employees and employers.
The consultative staff provides on-site, customized training to Medina County business and industry. The full complement of experienced consultants include experts in computer and office skills, safety training, health occupations and industrial training. The Computer and Industrial Safety consultative/training services are available through Medina Business Institute (MBI). MBI is a division of Adult Education. Understanding the needs of business and industry has enabled the Medina County Career to ensure quality training to meet the needs of business and industry in Medina County and surrounding areas. The Medina County Career Center is committed to the process of “developing workforce skills that empower people and companies to succeed!”
Full-time job training programs are part of the adult education daytime curriculum and include Medical Assisting in our new state-of-the-art lab and Office Basics. Evening opportunities include Basic Police, Dental Assisting, Building Technology, Medical Coding & Billing, Medical Transcription, and Cosmetology. We will be adding HVAC in the Fall. Financial aid is available to qualified candidates for most career-training programs.
Adult Basic & Literacy Education (ABLE) is offered free of charge to provide adults with a second chance to master basic skills necessary to function more effectively ion society, both at work and at home. English as a Second Language is an integral part of this program as well as G.E.D. preparation and testing.
Evening Career Enhancement classes offer adults programming that meets the changing workforce requirements and the new demands of technology. Computer applications comprise one of the more popular offerings. Special interest classes such as hatha yoga and mat & frame are also popular choices of the evening students in Medina County.
Registration for evening continuing education classes start in August, December and March for classes beginning in September, January and April.
