Northern Virginia Community College is a multi-campus, two-year institution established in 1964 to serve the educational needs of the Northern Virginia region. It is a comprehensive community college providing occupational-technical education, transfer education, developmental studies, continuing education, workforce development and community services, as well as student development services. It awards associates degrees and certificates in selected occupational areas and Continuing Education Units (CEU) for non-credit courses. It has an annual enrollment exceeding 60,000 students. The mission of the college is to respond to the educational needs of its dynamic and diverse constituencies through comprehensive programs and services that facilitate learning in an environment of broad access and lifelong educational opportunities.
