Linux+ is a foundation level certification for Linux administrators. By taking the Linux+ program you will become an expert in one of the world’s most popular Operating Systems. Receive an introduction to building labs and learn the fundamentals of CompTIA Linux+. Understand the system’s navigation and commands. Cover how to process text using filters, viewing commands, and sed syntax.

Managing Software

Overview using RPM and how to manage software. Use Cpio, Debian, and apt cache. Understand Debian tools and how to manage shared libraries.

Configuring Hardware and Managing Files

Configure hardware, devices, USB, and hard disk. Learn how to create a file system, as well as how to manage files and file archiving commands. Manage file ownership, disk quotas, and directories and content.

Booting Files and X Windows System

Learn how to boot and reboot Linux. Understand the boot process, manage runlevel services, and edit with Vi. Begin learning about X Windows Systems, including configuration options, managing GUI logins, and accessibility.

Admin and Basic Networking

Master best administering practices including modifying account configuration, adding groups, reviewing log file contents, and maintaining system time. You’ll also cover basic networking, networking addressing, network ports, and connectivity.

Scripts and Security

Understand scripts, email, and databases. Write scripts, manage email, and manage data with SQL. Learn about best security practices, including controlling access via TCP wrappers, configuring Xinetd, tools for managing passwords, and controlling SSH access.

Can I register for programs if I am an international student?

Yes, because ed2go programs are online you never have to actually travel to the school. Most schools offer telephone or online registration.

How long does it take to complete a program?

All of our programs are self-paced and open enrollment, so you can start them when you want and finish them at your own pace. When you register, you’ll receive six (6) months to complete the program.

What if I don't have enough time to complete my program within the time frame provided?

The time allotted to complete your program has been calculated based on the number of hours for each program, so don't worry too much about not completing in time. If, after a concerted effort, you are still unable to complete, your Student Advisor will help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that a fee may be charged for an extension.

Do I have to buy additional materials?

No. Instructors may make books recommendations, however, any book purchases will be at the student's own expense.

Can I get financial assistance?

ed2go courses are non-credit courses, so they do not qualify for federal aid. In some states, vocational rehab or workforce development boards will pay for qualified students to take our courses. Additionally, some students may qualify for financial assistance when they enroll, if they meet certain requirements.

What happens when I complete the program?

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate of completion. In addition, you will receive exam vouchers for the CompTIA Linux + (LX0-103 & LX0-104) exams after successful completion of the program and financial obligation.

Am I guaranteed a job?

In order to take our online programs, you must have access to a computer and the Internet. You can access the program contents from any Web-enabled computer.
