Week 1

This first lesson will surprise you at how simple grammar can be. Then you will discover how the English language functions and grasp the main verbs of English. You will also explore some of the language structures that can be confusing but once you’ve discovered the trick, they really aren’t confusing at all.

Week 2

This lesson will talk about past and present tenses. You will examine how verbs are manipulated to give specific meanings, and find out how to construct effective sentences in standard academic English. Then you’ll discover why it’s important to understand and use the future perfect tense in action words. You will also explore the difference between the infinitive (to go) and the gerund (going) forms and how to use them appropriately.

Week 3

This lesson will make sense of using modals (words that help verbs give a specific meaning) correctly. Then you will learn to identify the active and passive voice or, who did what to whom, which is important to help you detect deceitful statements others may make in and effort to persuade you to do something.

Week 4

This lesson will explain the difference between a clause and a phrase. You will also learn how questions are formed in English. Then you will examine what English speakers do to change a quoted speech to a reported speech.

Week 5

In today’s lesson you will look at practical applications of adjective and adverb clauses. Then you will learn the difference between what’s real and what’s unreal and find out what is considered acceptable English.

Week 6

This lesson will address the many nouns in English. You will learn the proper verb form to use with them. You will learn how to make the verb agree with the subject of a sentence whether singular, third person or plural. Finally you will go over all you’ve covered and how it contributes to an appreciation for languages in general and English in particular.
