Introduction to Microsoft Access 2003
Your Instructor: Craig Power
Lesson 01
Chapter 5

Shutting Down

Now that you've created your first database and added your first table to that database, let's call it a day.

To shut down Access, click the File menu and then choose Save to save all of the work you've done today. Then, click the File menu again and choose Exit. That's all there is to it!

What's Coming Up

Now that you have a feel for how tedious and time-consuming it can be to manually enter information into an Access table, I think you're going to love lesson 2. When we meet again, you'll learn how to trick Access into doing the lion's share of the data entry work for you. In lesson 2, you'll find a number of powerful strategies to help you work faster, smarter, and more productively with Access. I can't wait!

Next Steps

When you feel you have a grasp on all of the concepts taught in this lesson, I would like you to take a short, multiple choice quiz. To access the quiz, click the word quizzes at the top or bottom of any page in this classroom. When the quiz form comes up, select Quiz 01 and then click the Submit button. You can take the quiz as many times as you like. If you don't get a perfect score the first time, review your lesson and try retaking the quiz until you can answer every question correctly.

When you finish the quiz, I have a short assignment for you. To access this assignment, click assignments at the top or bottom of any page in the classroom. Then, scroll down to the section devoted to Lesson 1 for further instructions. This assignment is self-grading, so you don't have to turn it in. However, please be sure to let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

Good luck, and remember to come visit me in the lesson 1 Discussion Area!
