About Montgomery County Community College

This year marks Montgomery County Community College's 40th year, having been founded in 1964 and begun serving the community in 1966 from its initial location in Conshohocken, Pennsylvania. Since that time, the College has grown with the needs of the community, building its Central Campus in Blue Bell in 1972 and then opening the doors of the West Campus in Pottstown, in the fall of 1996. Along with these two campuses, the College offers e-learning opportunities as well as courses at various off-site locations, including the Willow Grove Naval Air Station and Lansdale. Supporting the College's mission to offer high quality, affordable, and accessible educational opportunities for community residents, the College is funded in equal parts by the County, the State, and student tuition and is locally sponsored by Montgomery County. The College is governed by a fifteen person Board of Trustees appointed by the Montgomery County Commissioners and is fully accredited by the Commission of Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools. Montgomery County Community College division of Workforce Development and Continuing Education (WD&CE) is dedicated to meeting the non-degree educational needs that evolve and expand throughout one's lifetime. The College believes that learning is a lifelong activity requiring constant adaptation of programs, courses, and learning support services to reflect social, technological, and workforce changes and to ensure that all learners reach their unique goals. We provide non-credit courses and training for educational enrichment, career advancement and job retraining as a major component of our mission. We are committed to offering students the most up-to-date resources to achieve their goals. These resources come in the shape of new programs like one being offered through partnering with Ed2go.
