About Marygrove College
Marygrove College is a small, private Catholic College campus community of all ages, cultural, ethnic and political backgrounds, located in the city of Detroit.
Although Marygrove College began in 1845 as a high school for women in Monroe Michigan (founded by the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, or IHM's), Marygrove College opened its doors as a liberal arts college in 1927.
Marygrove College students are on-campus and online, pursuing one of our many graduate, undergraduate, certificate or continuing education programs.
Marygrove provides a personalized learning environment which, through excellent teaching in its undergraduate, graduate, and continuing education programs, sets for its students these goals:
Competence, the ability to understand and participate effectively in the promise of our evolving world.
Compassion, the capacity to care about and respect the worth and dignity of people.
Commitment, the will to act responsibly based upon one’s beliefs and to contribute to the building of a more just and humane world.
We welcome you to our community and look forward to assisting in your personal, professional and educational goals.
