About This Course

A veteran educator, Ellen Arnold has been a reading specialist at the primary level, a social studies and reading teacher at the middle school level, and a special educator at the high school level. Ellen has spent years helping learners unlock their potential. She holds a bachelor's degree in secondary education and a master's degree in special education—credentials that prepared her to see each student for his or her greatest strengths. Ellen has taught hundreds of students and teachers the secrets to creating highly effective classrooms.

This last week has helped me understand so much of what my son (with ADHD) deals with at school. I have used many of the strategies suggested and have been so happy. All the examples given in the reading made me feel as if I was reading about him. He loves video games and hockey is his favorite sport. Now I can use the specific strategies that were suggested. I am careful now on questions I ask him. I am so pleased and realize he is giving it his all. I can hardly believe I used to tell him to focus. I understand now that he was focusing.
