About Samford University
Located in the picturesque mountainous area of Shades Valley, just ten minutes from downtown Birmingham, Samford University is the largest privately supported and fully accredited institution for higher learning in Alabama. Samford University has programs leading to the Associate, Bachelor's, and Master's degrees, the Specialist in Education, Doctor of Pharmacy, Juris Doctor and the Doctor of Ministry degrees. Metro Programs is the division of Samford University that focuses on credit and noncredit programs for learning over the lifetime. The Associate of Science and the Bachelor of Science degrees are offered to adult, nonresidential students. Through the noncredit program, Samford After Sundown, Samford University offers a variety of professional and personal development courses that respond to community needs.
