About Snead State Community College
Snead State Community College has a history rich in tradition. Snead is the oldest College in the Alabama College System to award associate degrees. The school, originating in 1898, was founded on a committment to excellence and service, and today we continue that tradition through academic transfer, career/applied technology, continuing education, and business and industry training opportunities.
The curriculum is carefully planned for easy transferability to four-year colleges and universities or for completion of an applied technology program to enter the workforce immediately. Day, evening, and weekend schedules accommodate the needs of both our traditional and non-traditional students, and our distance education offerings allow students to take college classes without having to come to the campus.
Snead State Community College, one of the public two-year colleges of the Alabama College System, strives to provide accessible educational opportunities, promote economic growth and development, and enhance the quality of life for the college service area. At Snead State we are small enough to know you by name yet large enough to shape your future.
