About Adult Learning Center
The Adult Learning Center (ALC) is part of the Virginia Beach City Public Schools system in Virginia and consists of three departments: Community Education, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) and Adult Basic Education (ABE). We have always been about helping people develop the tools they need for a good life.
Students often start in either ESOL or ABE and finish in Community Education with updated job skills or an entry-level medical certificate. We make the transition easy and well-defined.
The ALC offers over 200 face-to-face courses in a variety of categories (www.alc.vbschools.com) but we understand that our schedule does not always fit into everyone’s life. Partnering with ed2go allows us to offer 24-7 course availability to fit your busy schedule. Our online courses give you the opportunity to advance in your career, start a new career, or fulfill your curiosity about a new hobby or leisure activity. Let us help you succeed!
