In partnership with Model Teaching, an industry leader in supporting educators, this science of reading training will provide you with an understanding of the term "science of reading," what it is, what it means in education, and why it is important while teaching reading to use research-backed strategies and activities. You will explore what reading actually is and analyze some of the main components that are commonly referenced when discussing the science of reading.

You will leave the course with a better understanding of how to design a curriculum for meeting the science of reading requirements. You will also be able to identify gaps in your own instruction, if any, that you can improve upon in the future.

  • Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.

    • Editing of a Microsoft Word document is required in this course. You may use a free version of Microsoft Word Online, or Google Docs if you do not have Microsoft Office installed on your computer. You may be required to download documents.

  • Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.
