AutoCAD 2015 with AutoCAD 3D

In this online program, you’ll master basic and advanced 2D and 3D design skills, while gaining hands-on experience using AutoCAD® 2015. You’ll begin by exploring basic 2D tools, and then will progress to explore efficiency tools, complex objects, use of external reference and image files, advanced plotting, and customizations.

Once proficient with 2D commands in AutoCAD 2015, you’ll learn methods of 3D modeling and gain thorough knowledge in 3D fundamentals, while exploring the main features of the advanced 3D modeling workspace. This program uses Autodesk certified curriculum and will teach you the skills needed for the Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified Professional Exam.

Jennifer MacMillan holds a mechanical engineering degree from Dalhousie University, Nova Scotia, Canada. She's been teaching CAD for 19 years and is an Autodesk® Certified Instructor (ACI). She is currently working in a position developing training curriculum used by many CAD training companies. Jennifer has always enjoyed teaching and passing her knowledge and interest in CAD onto her students. Most recently she has found teaching online training classes very rewarding and inspiring because they enable so many students to learn new skills that they can immediately use in their jobs.

Michelle Rasmussen

Michelle Rasmussen is a specialist in the civil engineering industry. She started her career in the Air Force working in the Civil Engineering unit as a surveyor, designer, and construction manager. Michelle has worked with and created training curriculum for AutoCAD and Autodesk Civil 3D since 2007. Additionally, Michelle is the first Autodesk Certified Instructor (ACI) and Evaluator (ACE) worldwide for Civil 3D. Michelle’s passion and enjoyment in training users has also led to roles as an advisor to Autodesk on the Autodesk Authorized Training Center (ATC) Advisory Board and ATC Leadership Council where she served as Chair and Vice Chair.

Renu Muthoo

Renu Muthoo is a Computer Engineering graduate from Bangalore University, India. She has worked with Autodesk, Inc. products for the past 18 years, focusing mainly on AutoCAD and Autodesk’s design visualization software products such as 3ds Max, VRED, and Showcase. Using her engineering background and expertise in Autodesk products, she has co-authored a number of books for various CAD audiences. In her current role she works as a curriculum developer and subject matter expert, developing and writing training courseware for Autodesk products.

AutoCAD 2015 with AutoCAD 3D Requirements / Prerequisites

Before enrolling in this program, you should have a basic knowledge of the Windows operating system and be comfortable installing software and loading files. You should have an Internet connection and e-mailing capabilities and be familiar with using the Internet. A working knowledge of basic design/drafting procedures and terminology is recommended.

This program can only be taken from a PC. It is not Mac compatible. It is compatible with Windows 7 and later operating systems. It is also compatible with IE9, Chrome 13, Firefox 5, and Safari 5 and later browsers. There are no specific computer requirements other than an Internet connection and e-mail account. We recommend that you use the latest version of Internet Explorer in place of other Web browsers; however, the program should also be compatible with Firefox, Chrome, and Safari. Adobe Flash Player and Adobe Acrobat Reader are required for this program.

You need to have AutoCAD 2015. As a student you can download a free version of the AutoCAD 2015 software (containing AutoCAD 3D tools) that provides a 3 year student version license. Please note that ed2go cannot extend the software license for AutoCAD 2015. Additionally, the AutoCAD 2015 student software license cant be used in a commercial environment.

No, this program cannot be taken on a Mac.

What happens when I complete the program?

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate of completion.

Do I have to submit coursework?

There is no course work that has to be submitted. All grading is based on quizzes in the program, a midterm, and two final exams that are taken online and automatically submitted for grading.

Can I get financial assistance?

ed2go programs are noncredit programs, so they do not qualify for federal aid. In some states, vocational rehab or workforce development boards will pay for qualified students to take our programs.

Can I register for programs if I am an international student?

Yes, because ed2go programs are online you never have to actually travel to the school. Most schools offer telephone or online registration.

How long does it take to complete a program?

All of our programs are self-paced and open enrollment, so you can start them when you want and finish them at your own pace. Upon registering, you're given nine (9) months to complete this program.

When can I start the program?

How do I download the files that I need to do the class exercises?

Not all exercises require you to start with a provided model. In the cases that do there is a link at the top of the exercise page that enables you to download the file. Download and extract the file to your working folder so that you can begin the exercise.

Who will be my instructor?

Each student is paired up with a facilitator for one-on-one interaction. The facilitator will be available (via e-mail) to answer any questions you may have and to provide feedback on your performance. All of our facilitators are successful working professionals in the fields in which they teach.

Am I guaranteed a job?

ed2go programs will provide you with the skills you need to obtain an entry-level position in most cases. We don't provide direct job placement services, but our facilitators and career counselors will help you build your resume and are available to give advice on finding your first job. Does this program prepare for an industry recognized exam?

Yes, this program will prepare you for the Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified Professional and User exams. Upon successful completion of the program, an Autodesk AutoCAD 2015 Certified User exam voucher will be provided to you at no additional cost. Actual hands-on experience is a critical component in preparing for either exam. You must spend time using the product and the skills learned from this program. In addition to this program, an additional 50 hours of hands-on application are strongly recommended prior to taking the Certified User exam. You should have an additional 400 hours of hands-on experience with the AutoCAD software before attempting the Certified Professional exam.
