This online program will lead you through Microsoft Project 2016 features and functions one step at a time. You will learn how to plan out your work and keep projects on track using this powerful software. In addition, you will gain confidence and competency through hands-on practice exercises. You’ll be guided by a facilitator who is an expert using Microsoft Project. This program combines knowledge of project management scheduling disciplines with the use of the Microsoft Project 2016 software.

This training combines online presentations, reading assignments, and hands-on practice, which you will participate in offline with provided practice files. Quizzes and short case studies will confirm your understanding of the topics. Each module builds on the previous one in a logical progression from entry level to very advanced level skills. You will also receive advice and direction from a trained instructor.

In addition, this program will provide you with the knowledge necessary to prepare for the Managing Projects with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) 74-34 exam and provide the prerequisite training hours for Project Management Institute’s Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP)® credential or PDUs to maintain your PMI qualified certifications.

She has worked in a variety of industries, including Information Technology, Insurance, Manufacturing, Marketing, Aerospace, Construction, Healthcare and Telecommunications. Nikki has worked with Microsoft Project for over 15 years.

This program is self-paced and open enrollment, so you can start and finish at your own pace. Upon registering, you're given six (6) months to complete this program.
What if I don't have enough time to complete my program within the time frame provided?

The time allotted to complete your program has been calculated based on the number of course hours. If after a concerted effort, you are still unable to complete your program on time, your Student Advisor will help you work out a suitable completion date. Please note that a fee may be charged for an extension.

Can I get financial assistance?

ed2go courses are non-credit courses, so they do not qualify for federal aid. In some states, vocational rehab or workforce development boards will pay for qualified students to take our courses. Am I guaranteed a job?

Are there any state/national exams your students will be prepared to take once they successfully complete the program?

Students may wish to sit for the PMP® certification exam. Students will need to arrange and pay for the tests independently from this program.

I have Microsoft Project 2013 (2010, etc.). Can I use that instead of 2016?

No. This is a hands-on course that calls out specific keystroke commands. In every version of Microsoft Project, new features and functions are added or removed and keystrokes will likely change. Additional compatibility issues may exist with using the provided practice files.

I have Microsoft Project 2016 Standard. Can I use that?

Yes. Although this program will also cover some features / functions that are only available in the Professional edition, you will be provided with references to those functions. The main difference is that you won’t be able to do the hands-on exercises associated with those functions.

Does this program prepare for a certification?

Yes, this program will meet the educational prerequisites for the PMI Scheduling Professional (PMI-SP ®) certification and the Managing Projects with Microsoft Project, Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP) 74-34 exam. In addition, this program will meet re-certification requirements (PDUs) for most project management certifications offered through the Project Management Institute (PMI).
