Week 1

Find out how to choose the right chart for telling your story with numbers, and then how to create, format, and edit your chart to help others clearly visualize that story. Then, explore some of Excel’s lesser known charting options and how they can add tremendous value to your worksheets in the right situations.

Week 2

Learn how to use Auto Filter to limit your table information to just the records you want. Then, you’ll learn how to use Goal Seek to display the information you need when your formula isn’t returning the answers you want.

Week 3

Practice creating a PivotTable and discover how "pivoting" your data helps you gain valuable insights by seeing the same information from a different perspective. Then, you’ll move on to more advanced Pivot Table features including a PivotTable tool called Slicer.

Week 4

Learn how to use Solver to solve a complex problem based on the criteria and constraints we provide it. You’ll also explore in detail how to create all three types of Sparklines, as well as formatting options for each and gain the skills to create dashboard-like mini charts sure to make you the envy of your office.

Week 5

Find out how to use macros to turn boring, repetitive, time-consuming tasks into automated Excel functions. Then, receive a quick overview of all the categories of functions and the different methods you can use to create them.

Week 6

Dig a little deeper into using some of the slightly more complex functions that you'll find in the Math & Trig category, specifically the SUMIF and COUNTIF functions. Finally, learn how to use the extremely popular VLOOKUP function as well as INDEX and MATCH functions.

He has spent his entire professional career in the finance field, working for both privately and publicly held companies with sales ranging from $500 million to $3 billion. Through the course of his career, Chad has become an expert user of Microsoft Excel. His knowledge of Excel's capabilities has helped organizations streamline processes and save countless hours of labor. Chad has taught Excel to students of varying skill levels since 1997.

  • This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac.
  • This course is not suitable for Mac users who are using the Office Mac Home versions.

  • Browser: The latest version of Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, or Safari (We recommend Firefox or Chrome).

When can I get started?

A new session of each course opens each month, allowing you to enroll whenever your busy schedule permits!

How does it work?

Once a session starts, two lessons will be released each week, for the six-week duration of your course. You will have access to all previously released lessons until the course ends.

How long do I have to complete each lesson?

Keep in mind that the interactive discussion area for each lesson automatically closes 2 weeks after each lesson is released, so you’re encouraged to complete each lesson within two weeks of its release.

What if I need an extension?

The Final Exam will be released on the same day as the last lesson. Once the Final Exam has been released, you will have 2 weeks plus 10 days to complete the Final and finish any remaining lessons in your course. No further extensions can be provided beyond these 10 days.
