Course Code: 0h1
Stress affects every person every day and while some people rise to the occasion, others experience a myriad of physiological, psychological, and spiritual effects. How people cope with stress can determine the current and future state of their health and well-being. Learn how human bodies react to the signals sent by their brains during stressful episodes and how these signals affect every system, especially the nervous, endocrine, and immune systems.
Physical activity and movement are essential elements of any program designed for obtaining or maintaining health and well-being. While most individuals associate physical activity with aerobics, many activities comprise a well-rounded and interesting physical fitness and movement program.
What people eat profoundly impacts their health and well-being, yet many people eat when they are rushed; they don't know where their food originated; they eat toxic, irradiated, or genetically altered foods; and they eat more than they need. Learn how you can revise your eating habits and become more conscious of what you eat, why you eat it, and how it is prepared.
Health care providers can assist clients with their healing process through the creation of healing environments—spaces that support the individual's inner healer and utilize the environment to maximize its healing effects.
