The JFCS Career Development Center has partnered with ed2go to offer JFCS Career Development Center clients and others a wide range of self-paced tutorials and instructor-led courses that can be taken entirely over the Internet.
We've developed a portal for JFCS staff which offers these same courses, but at our wholesale cost. There are hundreds of courses, and you can work at your own pace with self-paced tutorials or attend an instructor-facilitated class via a chat room.
Self-paced tutorials cover a wide variety of fields, and you can start them anytime and work at your own pace. You'll have access to all course material and assessments as soon as you register, and many tutorials can be completed in just a few hours.
All of the instructor-led courses are led by expert instructors, many of whom are nationally known. For six weeks, you'll spend two to four hours each week completing two engaging lessons in an interactive learning environment. New sessions start every month, so you can sign up anytime.
A certificate of completion will be issued when you complete your tutorial or course with a passing score.
PLEASE NOTE: If you are taking a course that provides JFCS job-relevant skill building, it is possible that you can be reimbursed for the course. However, you must get prior approval from your supervisor. There should be no expectation that a course will be covered without prior supervisor approval. Additionally, if the course is approved as work-related, the time spent on the course must be documented as work time used for training purposes.
