In partnership with Model Teaching, an industry leader in supporting educators, this one-hour course will teach you about diverse student populations, including educationally disadvantaged and at-risk students. Model Teaching's Mission is to improve student performance by directly supporting teachers with quality content and resources. You will learn how understanding Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs will assist you in providing the right support strategies to students who need it most.
This teacher professional development course will teach you about the varied needs of educationally disadvantaged and at-risk students in your classroom. Your students come to you with a diverse set of needs, and you will need to implement strategies that help support each student's success in your classroom. You will analyze Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, consider the needs of your own students, and then work to evaluate and implement strategies for support in your classroom. The course comes with a downloadable PDF of the content, a student needs checklist, and various strategy plans you can utilize for implementation in your classroom so you will be empowered to work with at-risk youth.
