Each course within the Value Suite will introduce you to the features and functionality of Adobe's CS6 software. Courses included: Intro to Adobe InDesign CS6, Intro to Adobe Illustrator CS6, and Intro to Adobe Photoshop CS6.

Intro to Adobe InDesign CS6

In this Adobe InDesign CS6 class, you'll get hands-on desktop publishing training and come away knowing how to use this popular page layout software program to design and create professional-quality letterhead, business cards, brochures, PDF files that play movies, and more. You'll discover that you don't have to be a designer or an artist to produce professional-quality documents.

Intro to Adobe Illustrator CS6

In this course, you'll see how Adobe Illustrator CS6 can give you the power to design, draw, and color images quickly and easily. Each lesson contains an assignment that challenges both your creativity and your growing skill with the program. The course is designed to let you work at your own level, whether you're just getting started with Illustrator or looking to refresh your Illustrator skills.

Intro to Adobe Photoshop CS6

Photoshop is the world's best-known photo-editing program. Artists, photographers, designers, and hobbyists all rely on Adobe Photoshop for image creation and editing. Discover the fastest and most effective ways to use Photoshop from an expert and former columnist for Photoshop User magazine. By the time you finish this fun, hands-on, project-oriented course, you'll be well on your way to expressing yourself with the most exciting graphics program ever developed.

Requirements

Hardware Requirements:

  • This course can be taken on either a PC or Mac.

Software Requirements:

  • PC: Windows 8 or later.
  • Mac: macOS 10.6 or later.
  • Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox are preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
  • Adobe Photoshop CS6, Adobe Photoshop CS6 Extended, Adobe Creative Cloud or any version of Adobe Creative Suite CS6 that includes the Adobe Photoshop CS6 or Adobe Photoshop CS5 Extended (not included in enrollment).
  • Adobe InDesign CS6 (Windows), Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium (Windows), Adobe CS6 Master Collection (Windows), InDesign CS6 (Mac), Adobe CS6 Design and Web Premium (Mac), Adobe CS6 Master Collection (Mac), or Adobe CC may also be used (Mac or Windows) (not included in enrollment).
  • Adobe Illustrator CS6 (not included in enrollment).
  • Download the Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

Other:

  • Email capabilities and access to a personal email account.

Prerequisites:

You must have a basic knowledge of how to use your computer.

Instructional Materials

Instructor

Donna Baker is an educator, learning designer, and technical editor with more than 15 years of experience creating instructional materials. Donna started her career instructing and designing content for health and medical classes. She has since branched out to teaching courses on professional design and publishing tools. She is Adobe Certified Expert and Adobe Community Expert.

Sherry London is a noted Photoshop and Illustrator expert, an artist, a writer, and a teacher. Her fiber art has been featured in magazines and exhibitions. Her published works include Photoshop CS2 Gone Wild, Photoshop Magic, Photoshop Effects Magic, Photoshop In Depth, Photoshop Textures Magic, and Illustrator f/x and Design. She wrote the Tips and Tricks column for Photoshop User magazine for many years and is a two-time nominee to the Photoshop Hall of Fame. She has taught for the prestigious Thunder Lizard Photoshop Conference and the Professional Photographers of America seminars, as well as for Drexel University, Moore College of Art, and Gloucester County College. Sherry holds a Master's Degree in Information Systems and has taken doctoral-level courses in curriculum design.
