The Berks Career and Technology Center (BCTC) was founded in 1968 and is regarded as one of the premier career and technical education facilities in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, largely due to the outstanding performance and success of its students. BCTC operates two campuses, each situated on more than 23 picturesque acres in Berks County. Students choose from 35 programs of study across the following career clusters: Construction, Graphic Communications, Healthcare, Information Technology, Manufacturing, Personal Services, Technical, and Transportation. Each year approximately 3,000 secondary and adult students attend BCTC to acquire the knowledge and skills they need to be successful in a competitive workplace and further their education. Many students earn advanced credits through articulation agreements with post-secondary education. The Continuing Education program helps adult students upgrade their skills, earn certifications, participate in apprenticeships, or retool for new careers. Customized programs assist local companies in training their employees in specialized skill areas. State-of-the-art learning laboratories, a highly skilled faculty, and a curriculum geared to industry standards combine to distinguish BCTC as a leading provider of career and technical education. BCTC prepares today's students for tomorrow's emerging technologies and provides them with the competitive edge needed to compete in the global marketplace.
