You will analyze a content standard and then plan for how to break it down into components that will be best utilized using a Flipped Learning model.

You will leave the course with a ready-to-go plan that allows you to make the most of your in-class time while providing the correct learning at home. The course comes with several ready-to-use planning documents to ensure your success in implementing Flipped education in your classroom.

    1. How to determine the knowledge and skills embedded in a content standard to prepare for Flipped Learning lesson planning
    2. How to determine what should be learned out-of-class, and what would be best done at school with teacher interaction
    3. How to use your understanding of Webb's Depth of Knowledge to make these decisions
  3. The Out-of-Class Lesson Delivery
    1. 7 common methods of lesson delivery out of the classroom
    2. How to check for student understanding
    3. Some common obstacles to Flipped Learning and how to overcome them
  4. Engaging In-Class Activities and Support
    1. The types of activities that can occur during the classroom portion of Flipped Learning
    2. How to provide more valuable teacher interactions and more depth and rigor to the curriculum
    3. About the teacher's support roles as a facilitator in a Flipped Learning environment

  • This course can be taken on either a PC, Mac, or Chromebook.

Software Requirements:

  • PC: Windows 10 or later.
  • Mac: macOS 12 or later.
  • Browser: The latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox is preferred. Microsoft Edge and Safari are also compatible.
  • Microsoft Word Online
  • Editing of a Microsoft Word document is required in this course. You may use a free version of Microsoft Word Online, or Google Docs if you do not have Microsoft Office installed on your computer. Model Teaching can provide support for this.
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Software must be installed and fully operational before the course begins.

  • Email capabilities and access to a personal email account.

Instructional Material Requirements:

The instructional materials required for this course are included in enrollment and will be available online.

Your course begins immediately after you enroll.​

You have 3 months of access to the course. After enrolling, you can learn and complete the course at your own pace, within the allotted access period. You will have the opportunity to interact with other students in the online discussion area.

There is no time limit to complete each lesson, other than completing all lessons within the allotted access period. Discussion areas for each lesson are open for the entire duration of the course.

Because this course is self-guided, no extensions will be granted after the start of your enrollment.
