Sara Perrott has been working in the information technology field for 20+ years and has devoted the last 10 of those to focusing on cybersecurity. Sara has a Master of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance from Western Governors University Washington and a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Security from the University of Phoenix.

There are no prerequisites to complete this course.
Certification Requirements:
- CompTIA recommends the A+ Certification and a minimum of 9 to 12 months of hands-on experience working in a junior network administrator/network support technician job role to complete the Network+ certification exam.
- CompTIA recommends at least 9 to 12 months of networking experience and two years of experience in IT administration with a security focus to take the Security+ certification exam.

This course must be taken on a PC. A Mac or Chromebook OS is not compatible.
A motherboard capable of client-side virtualization:
- A 64-bit CPU
- UEFI firmware
- Hardware virtualization support in UEFI
Access to copper Ethernet cable-making tools and equipment:
- RJ-45 connectors
- A crimping tool
- Cat5, Cat5e, or Cat6 cable to practice on
Software Requirements:
- PC: Windows 10 or 11 (Pro, Education, or Enterprise edition recommended but not essential).
- Administrative permissions in Windows that enable you to install new applications
