Helene K. Liatsos graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theater and Communications and pursued an MBA at Fordham University. Helene has over 20 years of experience in the travel industry and has worked with companies including Trans World Airlines and Sheraton Corporation. She has also worked for travel agencies, both locally-based and nationally. Her vast travel experience includes places to Hong Kong, Morocco, Europe, and the Balkans, just to name a few. Helene also started her own home-based business. Her consulting company specializes in home-based business start-ups and in assisting established home-based businesses. She has been in this business for more than 20 years, has helped many entrepreneurs realize their dream of owning their own businesses, and was awarded the Home Based Business of the Year 2004 award by the U. S. Small Business Administration. Helene is a Business Advisor at the Small Business Development Center.

Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate of completion. In addition, you will receive an exam voucher for the TAP (Travel Agent Proficiency) test, offered by the Travel Institute (formerly ICTA), after successful completion of the program and financial obligation.
This course will provide you with the skills you need to obtain an entry-level position in most cases. We do not offer direct job placement services, but our instructors and career counselors will help you build your resume and advise you on starting your career. Instructors can also be used as a professional reference upon course completion. However, you should always research the job market in your area before registering.
You may be assigned with a facilitator or team of industry experts for one-on-one course interaction. Your support will be available (via e-mail) to answer any questions you may have and to provide feedback on your performance. All of our facilitators are successful working professionals in the fields in which they teach. You will be assigned to an Advisor for academic support.

The Travel Agent Training program will prepare you to sit for the TAP (Travel Agent Proficiency) test, offered by the Travel Institute (formerly ICTA), the registration fee for this test is included with this program. The Travel Agent Proficiency or TAP test is the first step towards professional recognition. The test allows students to demonstrate that they have mastered the basics of the travel industry – selling skills, basic geography, and the items/products sold by travel counselors.
A certified travel agent has earned one of the available industry certifications, such as Certified Travel Associate (CTA) or Certified Travel Counselor (CTC). While they are not required to work in the industry, travel agent certifications can add prestige to your resume.
